Statholderens Food & Wine cellar
Statholderens Food & Wine cellar is our informal restaurant, which lies below Statholdergaarden in the original, white, seventeenth century vaulted cellar.
Our speciality is an exciting 10-course menu, the theme of which changes every seventh week. The themes may be fish and shellfish, Tuscan food, or speciality game. These menus are very popular and are competitively priced. We also create an exciting wine menu, which is suited to the food menu.
We also have a rich and exciting a la carte menu containing Scandinavian food combined with elements of European cuisine.
Our other speciality is our tasty, high-topped, Danish open sandwiches. Our landlady from Denmark has brought with her all of the best Danish sandwiches that our wonderful neighbour has to offer. We have Danish herring, cured herb salmon, fried plaice, roast pork, salt meat and onion rings, smoked herring with egg and onions, and many other specialities which we serve from lunch at 11.30 am until 4.00 pm. We are closed for lunch from Tuesday June 22nd until August 30th
Obviously, we have a complete range of fine Danish spirits and crisp Danish beers.
The environment and atmosphere are informal, and the restaurant is suitable for lunches with friends, business lunches, working lunches, and networking. Kroa consists of three rooms that are great for large groups who want their own room. We can accommodate from 14 to 42 people in a single room.
We have an extensive wine menu that includes speciality beers and Danish and Norwegian spirits.
